Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be COWBOYS!

Another rough bowl game night for me! 3:26 Left and they just went down by 10. I had 28 points on them! Dang it all to heck and back! I think this probably just took me out of the money! Should have known!

Bowl-A-Rama!!!

I can't believe that I am going to say this...but, GO MIZZOU! Boy, those Tigers had me nervous! Todd and I participate in a Bowl-a-rama game every year where you pick the winners of ALL the bowl games and put point values on all the games from 1-34 based on your confidence level of your pick. The more confident, the more points your put on them. It keeps our house interesting over the bowl season. Right now, I am winning!!! I have only missed 2 games and low point totals...but I had a lot riding on Mizzou and they sure made me nervous! Now on for the wait for OU and the big one. Boomer Sooner!

Naughty or Nice...Maybe just Ornery!

Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope you all had a great holiday. We still have one more Christmas to go at Nana and Poppa Hackleman's with up coming weekend. We enjoyed a fun filled yet "chaotic" Christmas Eve at Grandma Thompson's and then travelled back to Derby to be home on Christmas morning. Reed enjoyed his Santa presents a great deal! I don't think he really understands the concept of Santa, but he definitely understood that there were new toys in front of the tree! We had a great day playing with all of our new stuff and just being a family. Todd, unfortunately was blessed with the stomach flu Christmas Day, so we sent him downstairs to "man town" to hibernate and stay away from all of us. Mom came over later in the day after spending the morning with the Pore Family. Today we spent with the Thompson's for our extended family Christmas. We had a really fun day there as well. We have had a good holiday overall and are blessed to have so many children around to keep the mood and spirits light and happy. We miss our Dad and Grandpa very much and know that he was looking down on us and enjoying and appreciating all the things that we know he would if he was here with us. Just like the pictures below....

Last weekend Todd and I took Reed to see Santa at the DRC. My mom came up and my sister brought the twins. We all headed out to eat some yummy pancakes and sausage then get our pictures taken with Santa! The twins were the perfect age and had a great time. They got to see Santa, make a craft, get a Rudolph tattoo, AND win at least 5 candy canes in the "cake" walk. Reed was a Holy Terror! He had to wait a little too long to see Santa so in the "down" time he opened some other child's Christmas present, ran all over the activity room at the DRC about 58 times, destroyed some other (not our cousins', whew!) child's tongue depressor snowman! That brought tears from the child (not from Reed). Mommy did some quick repair, but the little boy saw Reed throw it across the room. I know what you are thinking, and yes his mother and father were watching him, but we thought we had found a safe, non-destructive zone. Only to find out that this poor child had laid their craft project on the stack of folding tables in the farthest corner of the room to dry. His Mommy probably thought that was the safest place...she hasn't met the Hacklemans! Reed also got to play with Dalton Hornback. Dalton's mom Kori is Reed's babysitter and Dalton and Reed achieve daily mischievous acts. What a classic impromptu photo of them high fiving each other! Makes you wonder what they are up to...Have they really been that nice, or just a little bit naughty?

Getting Back in the Swing

Well, the Hackleman's have not fallen off the earth. We are still kicking and starting to get back into the swing of life again after all that has been going on this season. We have been busy these last few weeks since I last posted.

The first weekend in December, Todd and I went to Kansas City for the Big XII championship! What a fun Sooner game. It was definitely a house divided, and yes, we both came home together and still speaking,(but just barely!). No one likes to lose, but especially not Missouri fans - twice in two weeks at Arrowhead! ;) The only people that might be more sore than Mizzou are those Shorthorn fans!

We did get to spend some quality time with Todd's college friends Bill and Julie Watkins. We also go most of our Christmas shopping finished. It was a cold, blustery weekend but really was nice to get away. Reed had his vacation from Mom and Dad too. He stayed at Nana and Poppa Hackleman's. As always, he had the time of his life and won the hearts of his Nana, Poppa, and cousins Trey and Taylor all over again.

In the middle of all of that Reed, Todd and I all had the worst cold in the history of the world. Reed also decided to cut 4 teeth to top it all off. No sleep is what that means! So, we have spent the last week resting and recouping! We are all glad to say that we are on the mend, and Reed has 2 of those 4 teeth in! Yea!!! 2 more to go!!
